Formula 1 announced that the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix will be held at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia from October 2-4. With uncertainty surrounding the rescheduling of these races, Malaysia stepped in to host the Bahrain event this year, providing a safe and stable location for the Grand Prix.

This addition creates a consecutive sequence of races in the region, forming a triple-header with the Azerbaijan and Singapore Grands Prix between September 26 and October 11. The 2026 calendar now features 23 races, maintaining a nearly full schedule with just one cancellation. The Bahrain GP in Malaysia returns to the circuit more than eight years after its last race there in 2017, where Max Verstappen secured an early career victory.

Sepang first joined the Formula 1 circuit in 1999 and is known as an iconic venue for the sport.
