Ozlo, founded by former Bose engineers who acquired the original Sleepbuds intellectual property, has announced its Sleepbuds 2, an upgraded version of its sleep-focused earbuds. Priced at $279, the new model builds on the legacy of Bose’s earlier attempts in the sleep earbud market, offering significant improvements in battery life, connectivity, and audio quality. This marks Ozlo’s first major product update since its initial Sleepbuds launch in 2024, reflecting its growth from a Bose spin-off into its own sleep technology platform.

The original Ozlo Sleepbuds were designed to fill the void left by Bose’s exit from the category, with a small, comfortable design that suited night use, particularly for side sleepers. Besides passive noise blocking and sleep sounds, they incorporated features like an in-ear alarm and sleep tracking. With over 200,000 users to date, the new Sleepbuds 2 extend battery life to 14 hours and the charging case can power multiple nights without needing a recharge. A new button on the case allows users to control sound playback or snooze alarms directly.

Connectivity problems experienced by early users have been addressed through a redesigned Bluetooth antenna and extender, resulting in a longer range and more stable pairing experience with dedicated controls for quicker setup. The audio system has also been enhanced with a built-in amplifier and new personalized sound tuning modes such as Spoken Word, Airplane, Focus, and Balanced, improving sound masking and overall sound quality.

The Sleepbuds 2 introduce a new “Sleep Shield” feature that blocks calls and notifications unless users have activated phone sleep focus modes. Expanded sleep insights now track breathing, movement, and environmental factors like sound, light, and temperature to help users optimize sleep conditions. Ozlo is further developing AI-driven tools, including a conversational “sleep buddy” for interpreting sleep data. As part of the launch, buyers receive a sleep mask, travel case, and several ear tip sizes alongside the earbuds.
