This advanced chassis, constructed by Dallara, replaces the IR-12 that has been in use since 2012. Engine innovations include a new hybrid system developed with UK-based Helix, introducing the series’ first battery-based energy storage system from BOLD Technology. This setup increases energy storage capacity dramatically compared to current designs, offering teams greater power deployment flexibility while reducing weight. The powertrain enhancements promise increased power output up to 760 horsepower, with Chevrolet and Honda reaffirming their commitment to the series through competitive hybrid power units designed to maintain IndyCar’s thrilling and distinct sound and performance.
