Mad Tsai, a 24-year-old Chinese-Taiwanese-Peruvian artist, is stepping fully into his pop star era with the release of his new EP, CANINES, under Rebellion Records. Known previously for his alternative indie pop-rock tracks like “stacy’s brother” and “all-american bitch!,” Tsai now embraces dance and hyper-pop, exploring various genres while staying true to his love of pop and K-pop. The EP carries a bold vampiric theme inspired by horror classics such as Blade, Interview with the Vampire, and Jennifer’s Body, blending dark, sexy vibes with personal storytelling based on his own relationships and experiences.

The project’s lead single, “Bite,” debuted over a year ago in June 2025 and serves as the thematic anchor for the EP. “Bite” remains Tsai’s favorite track, noted for its viral success and energetic essence that sparked the entire project. Other standout songs like “mon chéri…” and “No One’s Son” showcase his range—from dance club anthems with a Gothic twist to introspective, emotional reflections inspired by Tsai’s introverted nature and queer experience. The EP’s narrative arc—from “Bite” to “Wisdom Tooth” and “Diet”—symbolizes growth, love, loss, and resilience, all tied together by the recurring motif of teeth.

Encouraged by his sister to build muscle and empower himself, he now pushes boundaries as a performer who is equally introverted off-stage but bold and theatrical on stage.
