The Indiana Pacers have officially partnered with DAZN as the new digital platform to stream their basketball games, starting with the 2026-27 NBA season. This move comes after Main Street Sports Group, which previously handled the Pacers’ broadcasts, announced it was winding down operations earlier this year. The Pacers selected DAZN after evaluating over a dozen options, aiming to make their games more accessible to fans, especially as traditional cable subscriptions have sharply declined from 88% in 2010 to just 30% today.
Under the new arrangement, 22 regular-season games and four preseason contests will be available for free on the DAZN app, while 15 of those games will also be broadcast locally over the air. This hybrid approach is designed to reach fans through multiple devices such as smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and gaming consoles. DAZN will host a dedicated Pacers hub on its platform, offering a seven-day free trial and an Early Bird Season Pass priced at $59.99, which amounts to about $1 per game, a strategy supported by data to appeal to fans’ preferences.
DAZN, known for its global reach with 300 million users predominantly outside the United States, is growing its presence in American sports streaming, already having deals with New York teams and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Pacers deal is expected to last five years, with an NBA-mandated clause allowing teams to opt out if a league-wide streaming solution emerges. The team also plans to maintain the 15 over-the-air games beyond this season to accommodate fans who rely on traditional broadcasts, with a strong focus on customer support and responsiveness to any accessibility concerns.
Indiana’s leadership emphasized that accessibility and expanding the fan base are central goals of the partnership. With cable consolidation limiting over-the-air options in their market, DAZN’s digital-first model offers a way to reach fans where they consume most content today. Returning voices like Jeremiah Johnson and Quinn Buckner will call games as the Pacers embrace this new streaming future, signaling a significant shift in how local sports broadcasting adapts to changing viewer habits.
