Mark Zuckerberg has recently acquired the historic Strancally Castle, located in Ireland, close to Meta’s international headquarters. This 19th-century estate spans 440 acres and is estimated to have cost between $23 million and $35 million. A spokesperson for Zuckerberg expressed excitement about caring for the castle and spending quality time in Ireland, where Meta has a significant presence.

The castle is a grand property situated along a river and surrounded by lush greenery. It reportedly features at least 11 bedrooms, four tower suites, a library, a dining room, and a drawing room. Previously owned by a financier who lived there for 25 years, the property is a notable addition to Zuckerberg’s real estate portfolio.

Meta’s international headquarters is located in Dublin, Ireland, about a two-hour drive from the castle in Waterford. The company has invested in the region, opening a 31,000-square-foot data center in 2017, emphasizing its commitment to expanding its infrastructure in Ireland.

This purchase follows another high-profile real estate acquisition by Zuckerberg in 2026, where he and his wife bought a $170 million mansion in Miami. This move aligns with a trend among tech billionaires relocating from California amid discussions of wealth taxes and regulatory changes.
