Versant, the parent company of Golf Channel and a Comcast spinoff, has announced its acquisition of Full Swing, a golf simulator company backed by Tiger Woods, for $530 million. Full Swing is the official simulator partner of the PGA Tour and plays a critical role in TGL, the indoor team golf league co-founded by Woods and Rory McIlroy. TGL utilizes Full Swing’s cutting-edge technology to project virtual golf holes onto a massive screen at the SoFi Center in South Florida, enhancing fan experiences during the league’s recent second season.
Tiger Woods initially invested in Full Swing in 2015 and has maintained an ownership stake of 1% to 2%, worth approximately $10.6 million based on the new valuation. Although a minority investor, Woods continues to influence Full Swing’s strategic direction and product development, leveraging his standing much like his involvement with his Sun Day Red apparel brand. The company, headquartered in Carlsbad, California, has seen several ownership changes, with private equity firm Bruin Capital selling it to Versant after acquiring a controlling stake in 2021 for $160 million.
Full Swing’s clientele includes prominent PGA Tour players like Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele, along with LIV Golf stars Jon Rahm and Dustin Johnson. The company also attracts athletes from other sports such as Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Steph Curry. Full Swing’s product line includes home and commercial golf simulators and launch monitors, with prices ranging from $5,000 for a monitor to $11,500 to $15,000 for complete studio setups, which also support other sports like baseball.
This acquisition marks Versant’s third major deal in 2026, following purchases of streaming platform Free TV Networks and AI financial analysis company StockStory. Full Swing will become part of Versant’s digital platforms and ventures portfolio, led by CEO Mark Lazarus. The deal also strengthens Versant’s connection to TGL, which is currently negotiating new media rights as its contract with ESPN nears expiration. Golf Channel could potentially compete for broadcasting roles in TGL or the emerging women’s indoor golf league WTGL, slated to launch later this year.
