Belgian startup Any aims to reshape urban mobility by addressing a key challenge in electric two-wheelers: cargo capacity. Its first product, the LUV1, is a modular electric motorcycle capable of carrying up to 120 liters, rivaling the storage space of traditional car trunks while maintaining a top speed of 100 km/h (62 mph). The design caters to everyday needs like groceries, work equipment, pets, and outdoor gear, with customizable options such as different panels, windshields, and racks, appealing to a diverse range of users from commuters to families.
The LUV1's eye-catching design was led by Lowie Vermeersch, former Pininfarina design director and current creative director and investor at Any. The startup pitches the LUV1 as a “life utility vehicle,” combining speed, range, and flexibility with significant cargo space. Priced starting around €7,000 (approximately $8,150), it aims to fill the niche between electric cargo bikes and cars, while requiring only an A1 motorcycle license, which is easier to obtain in most countries.
Since unveiling the LUV1 prototype at Milan Design Week in May, Any has generated strong interest, securing over 600 preorders in the first 100 days via a configuration platform that allows buyers to customize their vehicles. The company has raised a total of €2.75 million ($3.2 million) to date, backed by investors from the automotive sector. It has also recruited Alessandro Mangano, formerly of Aprilia, Ferrari, and Piaggio Group, as head of engineering to bring seasoned expertise to the startup.
Looking ahead, Any plans to expand beyond the LUV1 with new vehicle models, including a potential third-wheeler, to capture larger market segments such as last-mile delivery. To scale production and meet customer demand, the company is targeting a Series A funding round of around €10 million ($11.65 million) by year-end. Any’s strategy focuses on standing out in the growing electric two-wheeler market by combining performance with practical cargo solutions for urban lifestyles.
