A Georgia-based fuel supplier, Mansfield Oil, filed a federal lawsuit on August 19 alleging that businessman Syed Kazmi and his company KRSM failed to pay approximately $4 million for more than 1.1 million gallons of fuel purchased between May and July. The suit claims KRSM obtained the fuel from a Pennsylvania supply terminal but did not fulfill the payment obligations after Mansfield sent invoices in July. It further alleges that KRSM sold some of this unpaid-for fuel to stations within the Freedom Fuel Network, which gained national attention earlier in July.

In early July, 25 Freedom Fuel Network stations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey offered gasoline at a steep discount, selling fuel at $3.47 a gallon to honor President Donald Trump as the 47th president. Trump publicly praised the network on Truth Social, calling it a patriotic move and encouraging others to follow suit. The discounted fuel prices came amid rising gas costs linked to the ongoing U.S. war with Iran, making the network’s pricing notable for consumers.

The lawsuit, however, does not directly implicate the Freedom Fuel Network as a defendant or accuse it of wrongdoing. There is no clear indication of the exact amount of unpaid fuel distributed to Freedom Fuel stations or whether the network has any formal relationship with KRSM or Kazmi. Notably, some Freedom Fuel locations in New Jersey are managed by Shamikh Kazmi, Syed Kazmi’s brother, adding a familial connection between the parties involved.

KRSM’s attorney, Mauro Tucci, characterized the dispute as a disagreement over fuel invoice pricing, calling it an accounting issue rather than a deliberate nonpayment. White House officials have stated there have been no contacts between the administration and the defendants. Freedom Fuel Network has not publicly responded to inquiries regarding the lawsuit or the allegations contained within it.
