His football background includes being a 2007 Heisman Trophy finalist and a lengthy 13-year tenure as an NFL backup quarterback for several teams such as the Saints, Chiefs, Eagles, Bears, Lions, and Chargers. Despite limited regular-season starts, Daniel’s experience and expertise have translated into his growing presence in football broadcasting.

Rodgers has been with ESPN and SEC Network for several years, notably spending nine seasons calling SEC Saturday Night games alongside Tom Hart and Cole Cubelic. Beyond football commentary, Rodgers gained public attention after winning The Bachelorette in 2016 and has earned an Emmy for his work on SEC on ABC productions. His contributions also include serving as the lead analyst for the UFL on the network.

While ESPN has yet to disclose the exact nature of Rodgers’ new assignments, his promotion signals expanded responsibilities within the network’s sports programming.
