Telemundo Triple Premiere: ‘Operación Triunfo,’ ‘El Turco’ And End Of ‘Señor De Los Cielos’

Telemundo is launching a significant entertainment event called "Julio Histórico" on July 7, 2026, featuring the triple premiere of three shows in primetime. The lineup includes the U.S. debut of the music competition Operación Triunfo Estados Unidos at 7pm/6c, the tenth and final season of the popular Super Series El Señor de los Cielos at 9pm/8c, and the historical Turkish miniseries El Turco at 10pm/9c. This multi-show strategy is designed to maximize viewership and leverage momentum from previous successful premieres that have boosted Telemundo's ratings against competitors like Univision.

Operación Triunfo Estados Unidos introduces the renowned Spanish-language music competition format to U.S. audiences for the first time, 25 years after its original launch in Spain. Hosted by Natalia Téllez, the show features 20 contestants representing the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Latin America, who live together while receiving intensive training in singing, acting, dance, and performance. The judging panel includes David Bisbal, Ana Bárbara, and Ximena Sariñana, with guidance from Academy director Erika Ender and other artistic coaches. The winner will receive a $100,000 cash prize, a Universal Music Latino recording deal, and additional development and exposure opportunities.

The historical miniseries El Turco, starring international star Can Yaman as Hasan Balaban, premieres at the end of the night and marks its Spanish-language debut in the U.S. The five-episode series has already been distributed to more than 20 global territories and combines action, romance, and historical drama. The storyline centers on Balaban’s battle for survival and leadership after betrayal by his own family, as he protects a village and faces off against his ruthless brother Marco, played by Will Kemp.

El Señor de los Cielos, one of Telemundo's longest-running Super Series, returns for its milestone tenth and final season after debuting in 2013. Rafael Amaya reprises his iconic role as Aurelio Casillas and also serves as an executive producer for the conclusion. The final season follows Casillas as he resurfaces to reclaim his empire and confront enemies while evading the DEA and facing shifting loyalties. All three shows will be available the day after premiere on Peacock, with Operación Triunfo also streaming on the Telemundo app.
