Harvey hits $15.5B valuation, months after reaching $11B

Harvey, the AI startup focused on legal applications, has once again increased its valuation, reaching $15.5 billion after raising $550 million in a new funding round. This announcement came just months after Harvey's valuation hit $11 billion in March, and less than a year after a December round valued the company at $8 billion. The latest round was co-led by Diffusion and Lightspeed Venture Partners, bringing Harvey's total funding raised to over $1.55 billion. This rapid growth reflects strong investor confidence in Harvey’s technology and market position.

The company has completed multiple funding rounds with at least eight priced rounds since 2023, including five since 2025, according to PitchBook estimates. While Harvey has not officially named this recent round, it is potentially classified as a Series F round. This prodigious capital influx enables Harvey to further advance its product offerings and strengthen its foothold in the legal AI sector, which is increasingly attracting specialized investment attention distinct from broader AI industry players.

A key highlight for Harvey is the recent introduction of its in-house AI model, Harvey Tenet, developed from the open-weight Kimi K3 model and enhanced through post-training on legal datasets with the support of inference provider Fireworks. This strategic move not only showcases Harvey’s technical capabilities but also signals a shift in the legal technology industry toward leveraging tailored AI solutions developed in collaboration with open-weight frameworks, rather than relying solely on proprietary models from major AI giants like OpenAI and Anthropic.

Harvey is positioning itself as a pioneer in demonstrating how AI can be closely customized to meet the unique demands of the legal field while empowering clients to adopt and refine their own models. With its almost doubled valuation in less than a year and new advances in AI technology, Harvey stands out as a key player shaping the intersection of AI and legal services. Investors and customers alike are watching closely as the company accelerates its mission to revolutionize legal workflows through AI innovation.
