Cromvoirt is a small Dutch village with fewer than 1,000 residents but an unusual history, including a pioneering camel dairy started in 2006 by Frank Smits, serving immigrant communities. However, its current spotlight comes from Bernardus Golf’s rapid rise in the golf world. The course’s design and challenging par-5 holes promise an engaging experience for match play, with Stanford noting that the tournament's pairings combine data, player input, and intuitive judgment to maximize competitive drama during match week.

The Solheim Cup traditionally starts on Bernardus’ first hole, but in a unique Dutch debut twist, play begins on the third hole to allow a grandstand seating 3,000 fans, surpassing the 2,000-seat grandstand used in the 2023 Solheim Cup in Spain. Nordqvist highlighted this feature as elevating the spectator experience, while Anne van Dam, the Dutch vice-captain, expressed hope the event’s visibility will inspire new Dutch female golfers. She emphasized the need to nurture homegrown talent, noting the importance of such events in motivating young players.

Bernardus Golf has quickly established itself as a premier tournament venue less than a decade after opening and now secures its place in golf history by hosting the Solheim Cup.
