To maintain service quality for current users, OpenAI is pausing Pro sign-ups while it works to expand capacity. Other subscription tiers, including the API, Go, and Plus plans, remain accessible to users.

The unprecedented interest in Astra, launched on September 3, has pushed OpenAI to take this step. Astra is integrated across OpenAI’s offerings, serving Pro, Plus, Enterprise, and Business accounts, and is touted as a significant advancement in AI capabilities, particularly in reasoning, coding, and complex tasks.
