Fashion app Daydream uses Apple Intelligence to help you shop the outfits in your camera roll

Daydream, an AI-driven fashion discovery app, has introduced two innovative features leveraging Apple’s iOS 27 capabilities to streamline shopping from saved outfit photos and voice-based searches. Users with iPhones running iOS 27 and Siri enabled can now interact with Daydream without opening the app. One key feature enables users to upload images from their camera roll, prompting the app to analyze the outfit, identify individual items, and present shoppable matches or similar products from Daydream’s extensive inventory of around 3 million pieces.

This visual search tool can break down various outfit components such as sweaters, pants, shoes, and accessories, matching them to products available through more than 325 retailers and 10,000 brands including Anthropologie, Gucci, and Nordstrom. If the exact item is unavailable, Daydream offers closely related alternatives. Additionally, users can request variations like different colors or styles, enhancing the personalization of their shopping experience. Daydream’s CEO, Julie Bornstein, highlights the app’s fashion category expertise as a differentiator from other visual search tools that often yield less accurate results.

The second update integrates a Siri-powered natural-language search function, allowing voice or text queries related to fashion items without directly launching the app. For example, users can ask Siri to find a specific type of blazer for an upcoming event, and Daydream will deliver tailored results based on individual preferences. These preferences come from an optional “Style Passport” profile where users input details such as size, favourite brands, style, and budget, enabling a more customized shopping experience.

Daydream plans to build on these advancements toward its broader goal of creating a comprehensive AI shopping agent capable of understanding personal style deeply and assisting across all platforms and daily moments. Since launching last year, the app has attracted over 1.5 million shoppers and is positioning itself alongside other AI shopping tools from giants like Google and Amazon, as well as startups, by focusing on delivering accurate, credible fashion finds informed by real expertise in the category.
