Cabot is launching a new golf destination called Cabot Wilds on a 2,500-acre site in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, with an opening planned for late 2027. The highlight of this resort is an 18-hole riverfront golf course designed by Canadian architect Jeff Mingay, located alongside the scenic River Phillip and surrounded by wild blueberry fields. This property continues Cabot’s approach of integrating natural beauty with luxury experiences, featuring a clubhouse, dining options, recreation facilities, racquet sports, and residential real estate.

The land on which Cabot Wilds is being developed belongs to the Bragg family, founders of Oxford Frozen Foods, the world’s largest wild blueberry farming operation. Canadian businessman John Bragg, who was an early investor in Cabot Cape Breton and increased his stake in that property recently, is partnering on this project. Bragg expressed pride in sharing his family’s cherished land with visitors, emphasizing its deep personal and regional significance.

Ben Cowan-Dewar, Cabot’s CEO and co-founder, praised Bragg’s evolution from an enthusiastic supporter to a major investor, likening their relationship to Cowan-Dewar’s long-standing mentorship with Mike Keiser, the influential founder of Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. Cabot Wilds reflects the company’s continued vision of creating destination golf resorts that meld immersive golfing with expansive outdoor and leisure activities, all rooted in authentic local surroundings.

The Cabot brand portfolio includes other resort projects such as Cabot Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, Cabot Saint Lucia, Cabot Revelstoke in British Columbia, Cabot Citrus Farms in Florida, Cabot Highlands in Scotland, Cabot Bordeaux in France, and Lofoten Links in Norway. While the current plan focuses on a single Mingay-designed course, Cowan-Dewar acknowledges potential for expansion, contingent on the initial course’s success and guest reception.
