Pinterest is introducing a new AI-powered feature called “Restyle” that allows users to redesign their rooms by visualizing different furniture, decor, lighting, and other elements within photos of their own spaces. This feature is currently available in beta in the U.S. and Canada and is built on Pinterest Intelligence, which leverages Nvidia Blackwell GPUs, Nvidia Dynamo, open-source models, and proprietary Pinterest technology to enhance visual search and AI-driven shopping capabilities.
With Restyle, users can upload a photo of their room and experiment with various design changes, such as adding wall art, swapping out furniture, modifying accessories, altering paint colors, and adjusting lighting. The AI can also transform the entire look of a room according to popular styles like “bohemian,” “industrial,” “whimsical,” and “dopamine.” Users have granular control to edit individual items by removing them or replacing them with alternatives, enabling a personalized and interactive design experience.
This new tool aims to bridge the gap between inspiration and purchase by allowing users to see how saved Pinterest items would actually look in their living spaces. By integrating this feature directly into the Pinterest platform, the company hopes to motivate users to move beyond just pinning ideas and make more confident purchasing decisions based on realistic visualizations. Restyle was unveiled during Pinterest's annual Pinterest Presents event, alongside updates to visual search ads and app promotion features targeted at advertisers.
Although Restyle is still in an early preview phase, Pinterest plans a wider rollout in the coming month, expanding access beyond the initial beta. This launch underscores Pinterest’s ongoing investment in AI technology to enhance user engagement and drive e-commerce within its platform through innovative, practical features that bring design inspiration to life.
