‘VisionQuest’ Reviews Are In: All MCU Shows Ranked By Rotten Tomatoes Score

Marvel’s latest series, VisionQuest, debuted on Disney+ and has received a solid 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, placing it around the middle among all MCU television projects. This new installment follows the narrative thread connected to WandaVision and Agatha All Along, completing that trilogy. VisionQuest stands out by focusing on artificial intelligence characters like Paul Bettany’s Vision and James Spader’s Ultron, delivering themes highly relevant to current tech discussions, though it was developed before recent AI advances gained widespread attention.

When comparing VisionQuest to earlier MCU series by Rotten Tomatoes scores, Ms. Marvel leads with a remarkable 98%, followed by Agents of SHIELD at 95%, with WandaVision and Hawkeye each earning 92%. VisionQuest’s rating is higher than shows like Agatha All Along and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, both rated at 84%, but below shows such as Loki at 87% and Wonder Man at 91%. Excluding Netflix’s Marvel series from consideration, VisionQuest's ranking dips further, but an 85% score remains a respectable mark of quality within the franchise.

Despite decent ratings, the MCU’s venture into television has struggled with sustainability, as nearly all shows tend to run for only one season. VisionQuest is no exception, with no plans announced for a second season. Complications such as actor salary disputes derailed Hawkeye’s second season, and Wonder Man was renewed only to be subsequently canceled. The one exception is Daredevil: Born Again, which is set for an unprecedented third and final season, though it has not attracted strong viewership numbers.

Critics have offered mixed but generally positive reviews about VisionQuest’s balance of complexity and charm. RogerEbert.com described the show as “charmingly enthralling,” appreciating its interplay between light and darkness, while Variety noted it comfortably explores its unique “Mindspace” setting but falls short when venturing into the physical world. As audiences rejoin the MCU after some time away since VisionQuest’s predecessors aired, the show's performance will help determine the future direction of Marvel’s TV experiments.
