“MobLand” Season 2, Episode 5, titled “Birdland,” is set to premiere on Paramount+ at midnight Pacific Time on October 16, 2026. The episode intensifies the ongoing conflict, focusing on Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan) escalating his war against Frankie Cooper (Johnny Flynn) by fortifying the Cotswolds and increasing the body count. Meanwhile, Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren) dispatches Eddie (Anson Boon) on a secretive mission to Ireland, and Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy) struggles to unify the Harrigan family before external threats overwhelm them. This installment promises to heighten tensions with a mix of strategic moves and violent backlashes.

The season continues to unravel the deepening fractures within the Harrigan family after the explosive events of previous episodes. Last week’s episode saw Harry grappling with the fallout from Frankie’s bombing and contending with corrupt forces within law enforcement, particularly targeting cop Finch. Seraphina (Mandeep Dhillon) finds herself in a precarious position, torn between her loyalties and survival as she covertly works with rival Kat McAllister (Janet McTeer). The narrative is enriched by these intricate betrayals and shifting alliances, setting the stage for the chaos expected in episode five.

Season 2 maintains its tradition of naming episodes after iconic songs, with “Birdland” likely referencing Patti Smith’s 1975 track from her album *Horses*. This musical motif runs throughout the season, reflecting the show's thematic tone and style. The series, created by Ronan Bennett and with involvement from executive producers like Jez Butterworth, Guy Ritchie, and Tom Hardy, continues to deliver a gritty, realistic crime drama distinct from Ritchie’s other work such as *The Gentlemen*. The show has earned praise for strong performances from its cast, especially Hardy, Brosnan, and Mirren, and the current season is noted for being even more compelling with rising stakes and complex characters.

Paramount+ has already renewed “MobLand” for a third season, indicating strong confidence in the series. Season 2 is comprised of ten episodes, releasing weekly on Fridays and concluding with a finale on November 20, 2026. Fans are encouraged to follow ongoing recaps and reviews as the story progresses. With the Harrigan family caught in escalating violent disputes and secret machinations, the series remains a hot pick for viewers who crave dark, character-driven British crime dramas with high-impact storytelling and nuanced performances.
