Norwegian shares surge 13% on earnings beat, guidance raise

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings experienced a significant boost in its stock price, surging 13% following the announcement of better-than-expected third-quarter earnings and an upward revision of its 2026 financial outlook. The company reported third-quarter revenue of $2.95 billion, surpassing analyst estimates of $2.88 billion. Net income reached $491 million, or $1.07 per share, while adjusted EBITDA stood at $937 million, above the previously projected $874 million. Adjusted earnings per share also exceeded expectations, landing at $1.12 versus the forecasted 90 cents.

Alongside the strong financial results, Norwegian raised its full-year outlook, now anticipating adjusted EBITDA of $2.55 billion and adjusted EPS near $1.70 for 2026. Despite this optimistic forecast, the cruise operator revealed that booking levels have only improved modestly and remain below their ideal target. To address this, the company plans to implement new marketing strategies, including launching a fresh marketing platform in January, aimed at boosting future demand.

Norwegian also highlighted upcoming enhancements designed to attract customers, such as the addition of a new waterpark at its Great Stirrup Cay private island. These efforts are expected to contribute to stronger bookings and overall revenue growth. The company is clearly focusing on innovative ways to drive sales and capture greater market interest going into the next year.

In a notable leadership update, Norwegian announced that Chief Financial Officer Mark Kempa will depart after more than 25 years with the company. Meghan Montana, the current chief strategy officer, will assume the CFO role starting January 1. This executive transition comes as the company positions itself to capitalize on improved financial momentum and strategic growth initiatives.
