Sweetens Cove’s All-Day Golf Pass Is Getting A $100 Upgrade

Sweetens Cove, a famed nine-hole golf course in rural Tennessee known for its cult following and backed by high-profile investors including Peyton Manning and Andy Roddick, is raising the price of its peak-season weekend day pass to $290 in 2027—an increase of $100. This upgraded pass will cover not only the main course but also include food, nonalcoholic beverages, and entry to a new 13-hole short course featuring lighting, set to debut by early fall 2027. Despite the expansion, daily attendance caps will remain at 60 golfers Tuesday through Thursday and 45 on weekends for 2027 to maintain an intimate playing experience.

Looking ahead, Sweetens Cove plans a major transformation for 2028 with the introduction of an all-inclusive lodging package starting around $750, which will bundle accommodation, golf, meals, and drinks. Alongside lodging, 2028 will also see new amenities such as a shooting range, simulator bays, a fishing dock, a custom club fitting service, a thermal village with saunas and hot tubs, a mess hall, and a bourbon tasting experience housed within the course’s own Sweetens Cove Spirits brand. While these amenities expand the offering, the general manager Matt Adamski assures that the course will retain its relaxed, group-friendly atmosphere and loose format that has driven its popularity.

Sweetens Cove’s rise from a largely unknown and challenging property called Sequatchie Valley G&CC to a highly sought-after golf destination ranks it No. 41 on Golfweek’s 2026 top 100 public-access list. The course’s unique design, with oversized greens and multiple tees and pin placements, creates a fresh challenge on each round. Since its rebranding in 2014, demand has surged so significantly that passes typically sell out swiftly during release waves, likened to booking a coveted Michelin-starred dinner or a Masters tournament ticket.

The course balances exclusivity with accessibility by capping daily golfers to avoid crowding and preserve the vibe of endless loops on the nine-hole course, which has attracted players for marathon sessions playing up to 254 holes in a day. The incremental pricing and expanded amenities strategy aim to evolve Sweetens Cove into a premier golf destination with lifestyle offerings without sacrificing its grassroots charm and welcoming culture for groups of all sizes.
