How YouTuber Bigg Jah Turned A Few Pennies Into A Media Empire With A Tubi Partnership

Los Angeles-born Jahdai Pickett, known as Bigg Jah, has transformed his passion for storytelling into a thriving media empire leveraging social media’s power. Inspired by his family’s influence, including his aunt who took him to Fox Studios, Bigg Jah developed a love for entertainment early on. While studying film at the University of California, Berkeley, and playing collegiate football, he juggled various jobs that enriched his life experiences and sharpened his storytelling skills. His work combines humor and authenticity, capturing everyday life and culture through what he calls “good hood comedy.”

Bigg Jah’s journey began modestly on YouTube, where he consistently posted short clips and slowly built an audience. His first YouTube check for six cents became a pivotal moment, motivating him to reinvest all earnings into better equipment and production quality. Since 2018, he has committed fully to content creation, amassing nearly 8 million followers and over 800 million views across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. His grassroots approach proved he could cultivate a dedicated fan base independently, which eventually opened bigger doors in the entertainment industry.

A significant milestone came with his partnership with Tubi, the free streaming service boasting more than 300,000 movies and TV episodes. After independently releasing popular digital series like “Whole Crew Is Stupid” on the platform, Bigg Jah secured an exclusive digital-first creator deal with Tubi in 2025. The partnership allows him to retain creative control and intellectual property rights while scaling his reach. Kudzi Chikumbu, Tubi’s VP of creator partnerships, emphasized the platform’s mission to bridge creators to Hollywood by providing marketing support and internal advocacy.

Bigg Jah announced an exciting slate of new projects for Tubi, including “L.A.U.G.H. Houston,” an anthology series depicting local daily struggles; “Bigg Jah Presents: The Whole Crew Is Stupid,” a live comedy showcase taped at Dream Con 2026; and “Bigg Homies,” a feature film about a neighborhood enforcer facing foreclosure, with filming starting in August 2026. He also hinted at “L.A.U.G.H. Chicago,” underscoring his ambitious expansion plans. This evolution from a small YouTube check to a multi-platform media creator exemplifies how innovation and perseverance can turn creative passion into a growing empire.
