ESPN will open with a tripleheader that includes a marquee Panthers-Hurricanes game, spotlighting the two most recent Stanley Cup champions. Meanwhile, Sportsnet will showcase an iconic Canadian rivalry with a Canadiens-Maple Leafs doubleheader, marking a period of transition for Toronto's franchise with new executive leadership including GM John Chayka and adviser Mats Sundin.

Significant NHL events are also thoughtfully built into the schedule, aiming to boost fan engagement across markets and internationally. Highlights include the NHL Heritage Classic outdoor game between the Canadiens and Jets in Winnipeg on October 24, and the Global Series with games in Finland and Germany featuring the Hurricanes, Kraken, Senators, and Blackhawks. Additionally, the Winter Classic is set for December 31 in Utah, and a revamped All-Star weekend will take place at UBS Arena in New York, reflecting the league’s effort to elevate its marquee events.

To further broaden the NHL’s global reach, the schedule incorporates more Monday matinee games timed for prime European viewership.
