Anduril reportedly in talks to raise funding at $100B valuation, more than 3x last year’s mark

Anduril, a defense technology company, is reportedly planning a new funding round that could value it at approximately $100 billion, more than tripling last year’s valuation of $30.5 billion. This follows Anduril’s May 2026 raise of $5 billion at a $61 billion valuation. Sources suggest the fundraising might occur in two phases, with the latter phase potentially attracting investors at the higher valuation, with both stages expected to complete by the end of the year.

The surge in Anduril’s valuation is tied to a booming defense tech sector, driven by increased demand for drones, autonomous systems, and AI-enhanced warfare technologies amid ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. The industry has seen venture capital funding exceed $12 billion in the first half of 2026, outpacing the total raised in 2025. Anduril has secured contracts with major U.S. military branches, NATO, and European defense agencies, boosting its market position and revenue, which more than doubled to $2.2 billion in 2025.

Other defense startups are also capitalizing on this trend, with companies like Shield AI, Mach Industries, and Helsing achieving significant funding rounds and valuation increases. These firms are focusing on “attritable” defense hardware—lower-cost, replaceable systems—reflecting a shift away from traditional expensive military equipment. For instance, Mach Industries recently acquired a solid rocket motor maker to enhance its propulsion capabilities, while Anduril has received Pentagon funding to expand domestic rocket motor production to address supply chain challenges.

Anduril counts notable investors such as Thrive Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, and even U.S. Vice President JD Vance. Although the company has stated no decisions about the new funding round have been finalized, it continues to explore financing opportunities to support its rapid growth. This fundraising effort underscores Anduril’s rising influence in the evolving defense technology landscape.
