A new 12-inch Hot Toys action figure has unveiled Ian McKellen's complete Magneto appearance for Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster "Avengers: Doomsday." This film was a major highlight at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026, where stars including Robert Downey Jr. and MCU producers revealed a trailer emphasizing the villain Doctor Doom. Previously, glimpses of McKellen’s Magneto and Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in the movie have been scarce, but the collectible showcases Magneto fully equipped in his iconic X-Men costume alongside his detailed helmet.

The Hot Toys figure stands 11.8 inches tall and features intricate details such as a newly sculpted helmet with rolling eyeballs and a realistic portrait of McKellen complete with wool-textured gray hair visible beneath the helmet. Two versions are available for pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles, the U.S. distributor: a Collector’s Edition priced at $285 and a Deluxe Edition costing $390. The Deluxe package includes a battle-damaged Sentinel diorama base with USB-powered LED lights, enhancing the display value for collectors.

The unveiling of Magneto’s figure coincides with Hot Toys also releasing action figures for other key "Avengers: Doomsday" characters, including Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, Channing Tatum’s Gambit, and James Marsden’s Cyclops. These figures were first showcased at SDCC 2026 before going on sale for delivery scheduled between July and December 2027. Both Magneto versions come with alternate hands, display bases, and commemorative special editions featuring a life-sized metal ring as an added bonus.

"Avengers: Doomsday" marks McKellen’s sixth portrayal of Magneto, a role he originated in the 2000 film "X-Men." The actor has reprised the character across various sequels and spin-offs, sharing the role with Michael Fassbender, who plays a younger Magneto in prequel titles. The film is set for release nationwide on December 18, 2026, promising to bring together multiple Marvel characters and storylines, with McKellen’s Magneto taking a prominent place in the narrative and merchandising buzz.
