Encore AI raises $30M to build AI agents that learn from customer calls

Encore AI, a startup focused on developing AI agents that learn from customer interactions, has secured $30 million in a Series A funding round led by Team8. Founded in 2022 by CEO Dvir Ginzburg initially as Insait IO, the company has evolved from providing recommendation software for financial advisers to creating a platform that analyzes conversations between employees and customers. By studying these interactions, Encore AI identifies effective sales and support techniques and packages them into AI agents that replicate successful human behaviors, even including personalized touches like jokes and anecdotes.

The core technology, termed "interaction mining," mines data from call recordings, emails, text messages, and CRM systems to map out customer interactions. It pinpoints which conversation elements advance engagements and which do not, allowing Encore’s agents to tailor their responses to individual clients and specific phases of a sales or support process. Additionally, the platform helps businesses uncover inefficiencies and friction points within their existing customer-facing procedures, enabling targeted improvements.

Encore AI’s technology supports direct communication with customers via voice or text and can also assist employees in real-time by suggesting responses and strategies during conversations. With over 40 enterprise clients worldwide, predominantly financial institutions, the company reports that its annual recurring revenue has grown more than fivefold since its seed funding less than 18 months ago. While facing potential competition from major CRM providers such as Salesforce, SAP, Zoho, and HubSpot, Encore’s CEO argues that these incumbents have yet to fully integrate conversational history as a foundational data source for AI.

The recent funding round also included participation from Planven, Lukatz, Garage, and various banks and insurers, some of which were early users of Encore’s platform before becoming investors. The company plans to use the capital to expand its U.S. sales team and deepen its engagement with large financial institutions. This investment underscores the growing demand for AI solutions that enhance customer interaction quality by learning directly from the best-performing human agents.
