Google has partnered with the Pokémon Company to launch a special-edition Fitbit Air that integrates with the Pokémon Sleep app, a game that gamifies sleep tracking. This collaboration celebrates Pokémon’s 30th anniversary and aims to blend health monitoring with engaging gameplay. Pokémon Sleep encourages players to improve their sleep habits by turning bedtime into an interactive experience, rewarding good sleep quality and duration within the app.

The Fitbit Air enhances this experience by tracking a range of health data such as daily movement, heart rate, and cardio load during the day, while also monitoring sleep metrics at night. This data syncs with both the Google Health app and the Pokémon Sleep platform, allowing users to see their wellness data and game progress in one place. Pokémon Sleep supports various wearables already, including Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch, Fitbit models, and Google Pixel Watch, but this special edition Fitbit Air creates a unique tie-in for fans.

Originally unveiled in May, the Fitbit Air features a slimmer design and offers AI-powered coaching to provide personalized fitness, sleep, and wellness guidance. The special-edition Pokémon Sleep version of the Fitbit Air is priced at $129, available for preorder now, and is set to ship starting September 15. It will be sold through the Google Store and Target, while the standard Fitbit Air retails for $99.

This move follows Google’s recent collaboration with NBA star Stephen Curry on a special edition Pixel Watch designed for workouts, priced at $579. By combining fitness tracking with popular entertainment franchises like Pokémon, Google is aiming to make wearable health technology more engaging and fun, attracting new users to both its devices and health apps.
