Fashion startup Atorie raises $9.5M to bring consumers luxury goods without the markup

Fashion startup Atorie has raised $9.5 million in a seed funding round led by investors such as a16z Speedrun, Night Capital, and Jeremy Liew from Lightspeed Ventures. The company offers consumers luxury goods made from the same materials and produced in the same factories used by high-end brands, but at significantly lower prices. For example, its Italian leather handbags cost just a few hundred dollars compared to the thousands charged by luxury names like Prada and Louis Vuitton.

Atorie's model capitalizes on shifts in the luxury manufacturing industry. Whereas factories traditionally only produced large batches of brand-specific designs, many now develop their own products and can produce smaller runs more flexibly, reducing risks of overproduction. Atoire co-founder Redouane Ramdani explained that their items aren't copycat dupes or fast fashion but genuine, well-crafted goods made slowly with quality materials. Ramdani's background includes growing up in a luxury manufacturing family and founding Snipfeed, a creator platform sold in 2024.

The startup incorporates AI extensively to enhance production and customer experience. AI tools help predict consumer demand, optimize inventory, and analyze fashion trends such as color preferences. On the shopping side, Atorie features AI agents that suggest outfits inspired by users' interests and learn buying habits to recommend future purchases. The company sees its offering as an affordable alternative to fast fashion and aims to appeal to younger consumers seeking trendy yet well-made products.

Atorie has experienced rapid growth, generating about $5 million in sales last year and targeting an annual run rate above $55 million this year. The fresh capital will support logistics expansion, development of additional AI capabilities, and product launches, including an in-house clothing line. The company also plans collaborations with creators and influencers to help them quickly bring their own fashion lines to market, positioning Atorie as a disruptive player in accessible luxury goods.
