DAZN Acquires EverPass Media, Gains NFL Sunday Ticket’s Commercial Rights

DAZN is making a major push into the U.S. sports market with its recent acquisition of EverPass Media, a key player holding the exclusive commercial rights to NFL Sunday Ticket. The London-based streaming giant will rebrand EverPass as “DAZN for Business,” expanding its presence beyond its established soccer and combat sports offerings. This deal, part of a series of aggressive moves over the past six months, aligns with DAZN’s broader U.S. growth strategy, though financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

EverPass Media was initially created in 2023 through a joint venture involving the NFL’s 32 Equity and RedBird Capital Partners. With this takeover, DAZN will now control the commercial distribution of NFL Sunday Ticket, including streaming to bars, restaurants, and other multiscreen venues. This acquisition complements DAZN’s expanding portfolio, which recently includes acquiring streaming tech company ViewLift and striking deals with NBA teams like the Timberwolves and Pacers, as well as partnerships involving the YES and MSG Networks.

DAZN’s CEO, Shay Segev, emphasized that the company can now serve a broad spectrum of customers in the U.S., from individual sports fans to commercial businesses. Besides NFL Sunday Ticket, DAZN for Business inherits extensive commercial streaming agreements that cover live broadcasts of nearly every major professional and college sports league through partnerships with platforms such as ESPN, Amazon, Peacock, and Apple TV. These rights cement DAZN’s position as a comprehensive sports streaming provider.

Despite the shift towards streaming, there remains some resistance among certain regions to abandon traditional satellite broadcasts for NFL games, which remain the most-watched programs on U.S. television. To address this, EverPass recently extended its contract with satellite provider DirecTV, ensuring that venues like bars and restaurants will continue to have multiple options for accessing NFL Sunday Ticket content. Meanwhile, 32 Equity, RedBird, and TKO Group Holdings have taken minority stakes in DAZN as part of the acquisition arrangement.
