Vie Artletique, a new entrant in the tennis footwear market, officially launched its high-performance tennis shoe during the 2026 U.S. Open. The brand was developed by a private consortium of tennis insiders—including players, agents, coaches, and investors—who partnered with GR Shoe Company, known for producing NBA star Jaylen Brown’s shoe, starting the project in early 2025. Their goal was to combine cutting-edge technical features with fashionable design, making a shoe that not only performs well but also appeals aesthetically.
The design process focused heavily on solving common discomfort issues faced by tennis players, especially foot pain caused by lateral sliding during play. Vie Artletique utilized expertise from GR Shoe Company, which includes veterans with backgrounds in iconic basketball shoe lines, and collaborated with Jones & Vining for a tennis-specific shoe last. They created multiple foot shapes, including customized lasts for professional players like Canadian Leylah Fernandez and American Ethan Quinn, with Fernandez becoming the first athlete to sign on. The footwear features advanced materials such as a super-lightweight and rebound-efficient supercritical foam midsole and a uniquely abrasion-resistant new toe guard material.
The brand emphasizes a blend of technology and style, employing a breathable knit herringbone upper that enhances visual appeal while hiding the shoe’s technical attributes. The launch colors for the U.S. Open included “celestial blue” and “purple potion,” with additional mainline options such as “seed pearl” tan and an all-white version. Vie Artletique also accommodates personalized requests, even custom Pantone colors for professional players, reinforcing the brand’s focus on meeting athletes’ specific needs.
Vie Artletique targets both professional players without existing footwear deals and tennis consumers, adopting a direct approach to gain market traction. The shoes are priced at $180, positioned in the mid-tier range among premium tennis shoes to attract buyers willing to try a new brand. As COO Jarka Duba highlights, the brand’s focus is solely on creating “the best shoe,” aiming to establish a fresh standard that merges performance excellence with on-court fashion during a time of growing interest in tennis apparel and equipment innovation.
