Google has introduced new conversational AI voice features, named Docs Live, Gmail Live, and Keep Live, integrated into its Docs, Gmail, and Keep applications. These tools allow users to interact with their inboxes and documents through natural language queries and voice dictation. Initially previewed at Google I/O in May 2026, these features enable users to ask questions, request document drafts, and create notes simply by speaking, rather than typing.

In Gmail Live, powered by Google’s Gemini AI model, users can engage in live conversations with an assistant that helps search inbox contents and provides a real-time transcription of the interaction. Docs Live offers an AI assistant that drafts content based on spoken instructions and can pull information from various Google services including Gmail, Drive, chat, and the web to enrich documents. Meanwhile, Keep Live acts as a voice-enabled scratchpad for jotting down notes or generating lists, such as recipes, all via voice commands.

These AI voice features are currently available in English on both iOS and Android platforms. Gmail Live is accessible to users with Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscriptions, whereas Docs Live and Keep Live are offered to Pro and Ultra subscribers. Google also plans to roll out these enhancements to Google Workspace Business customers in the near future, expanding availability to professional and enterprise environments.

This move follows Google’s broader push to incorporate voice-driven AI across its product ecosystem. Earlier in 2026, Google launched cross-application dictation for its Mac app and the Gemini-powered Rambler dictation tool on Pixel 11 smartphones, which helps edit speech input by removing filler words. The company also debuted the Gemini 3.5 Transcribe model in August for speech-to-text functionalities, signaling a strong ongoing commitment to enhancing voice interaction capabilities throughout its service portfolio.
