Ulta Beauty CFO Praises CÉCRED For Helping To Drive 'Healthy Growth' As Prestige Hair Care Brands Account For 20% Of Net Sales

Ulta Beauty delivered strong financial results in its second quarter of fiscal 2026, reporting net sales of $3 billion, which marked an 8.9% increase over the previous period. Comparable sales rose by 3.5%, operating income grew by 10.1%, and diluted earnings per share increased by 13.3% to $6.55 million. Ulta Beauty President and CEO Kecia Steelman credited the company's disciplined execution of the "Ulta Beauty Unleashed" strategy for driving this healthy performance, benefiting customers and shareholders alike.

Haircare represented 20% of Ulta Beauty’s net sales, with prestige haircare brands and hair tools contributing significantly to growth. CFO Christopher DelOrefice highlighted that premium haircare brands like amika, Moroccanoil, and the exclusive Cécred have been instrumental in delivering high single-digit comparable sales growth in the haircare category. The rising popularity of scalp treatments has also resonated well with consumers, bolstering the category’s performance during the quarter.

Cécred, the prestige haircare brand founded by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter in 2024, launched at Ulta Beauty in February 2025 and remains an exclusive retail partner with the company. Cécred’s science-backed products, including its patented Bioactive Keratin Ferment and offerings like the Clarifying Shampoo and Scalp Scrub priced at $38, have captured a loyal customer base across more than 1,400 Ulta stores nationwide. The CFO acknowledged Cécred's role in driving sustained healthy growth within the prestige haircare segment.

Ulta Beauty’s executives expressed confidence in their strategic direction, prompting an upward revision of sales and earnings guidance for the fiscal year. CEO Steelman emphasized that the company’s strong quarterly performance underpins their belief in the ability to generate profitable growth and long-term value for stakeholders amidst an evolving retail environment. Cécred’s success within Ulta's footprint signals promising momentum for this Black-owned, celebrity-founded brand in the beauty industry.
