Everything Apple announced at its fall iPhone event, from the foldable iPhone Duo to an always-listening Apple Watch

Apple’s latest fall launch event, held on September 9 under CEO John Ternus, showcased several highly anticipated products, headlined by the company’s first-ever foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. This new device boasts a 7.6-inch Retina inner display and a 5.4-inch outer screen, designed with an underdisplay camera to maximize screen space. The iPhone Duo offers impressive battery life, with up to 31 hours of video playback on its inner screen and 44 hours on the outside. Its camera setup includes dual 48-megapixel sensors, supporting versatile photography options such as rear-camera selfies viewable on the front display. The phone’s hinge, engineered from Grade 5 aluminum with over 100 components, ensures durability and smooth operation. The iPhone Duo will be available in two colors, starting at $1,999 with 256GB of storage, with preorders opening on October 16 and retail availability beginning October 23.

Alongside the foldable phone, Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models, maintaining a similar design to previous versions but featuring major upgrades to their camera systems. Notably, the new Pro lineup includes a 48-megapixel sensor with a six-blade variable aperture to enhance low-light photography and shooting speed, paired with advanced software controls like white balance and shutter speed adjustments. The devices support 4K video recording in Dolby HDR Vision and allow post-shoot cinematic effects. Pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the Pro Max begins at $1,299, representing a $100 increase over last year’s prices. These models will be available for preorder starting the Saturday after the event, with official sales starting September 18.

Apple also refreshed its smartwatch lineup with the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, focusing on software advancements more than new hardware design. A standout addition is the “Sound Recognition” feature, which listens for important ambient noises like alarms and baby cries and alerts users, particularly aiding those with hearing difficulties. Both watches introduce AI-driven features such as “Live Rewind” to review the last 15 seconds of conversations in text and “Siri Recap” to highlight key points from daily discussions. The Apple Watch Series 12 starts at $399, while the Ultra 4 is priced at $499. Preorders for these watches are open immediately following the event, with availability in stores starting on September 18.

In addition to hardware, Apple unveiled the redesigned Apple Health app, incorporating Apple Intelligence to provide more meaningful insights and personalized health guidance. The app now features an Insights tab that summarizes critical health information and offers a new "Readiness" score alongside a calculated “Health Age.” A Longevity tab has been added as well, using data from the iPhone and Apple Watch to evaluate overall wellness based on various factors like sleep and heart health. Furthermore, the new AirPods 5 were introduced with enhanced active noise cancellation, improved transparency mode, and added volume controls on the stem, priced starting at $129 with a wireless charging variant at $149. Preorders for AirPods 5 also began immediately, with delivery slated for September 18.
