Instagram has introduced a new feature that allows users to add posts they’ve been tagged in directly to their main profile grid. This small update enables people to showcase shared moments on their own profile without needing to repost or duplicate content. Users can add tagged posts right from their direct message notifications, the post itself, or through the Tagged tab and can remove these posts from their grid at any time without affecting the original post.
This feature adds more customization and control over personal profiles, enhancing the way users present their online identity. It also serves creators and brand campaigns by simplifying the process of displaying collaborations or shared posts across profiles, helping to amplify content without the hassle of re-uploading. Instagram presented this as part of its ongoing efforts to allow users greater flexibility in managing their profile aesthetics.
The new tagging functionality complements other recent changes Instagram has made, such as the June rollout of the “Reorder your grid” option, which lets users rearrange their profile content. Instagram has also launched several editing tools for content creators, including the “First Draft” feature that automates video editing by trimming and sequencing clips, and the “Replace Audio” tool that allows users to swap music on existing posts.
These developments reflect Instagram’s broader strategy to empower users and creators in shaping their content and profiles. By expanding control over tagged posts and content management, Instagram is enhancing user experience and engagement while supporting creative collaboration and campaigns. The feature is now available starting September 2026.
