Stephen Curry announced that his long-awaited signature shoe, created in collaboration with Chinese sportswear brand Li-Ning, is set to launch in early 2027. The NBA superstar revealed this news during an interview, noting that he will continue to wear Li-Ning shoes inspired by teammates Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade until his own model debuts. Curry signed a significant 10-year, $400 million deal with Li-Ning in June after ending a 13-year partnership with Under Armour on mutually agreeable terms.
Curry described his departure from Under Armour as a natural conclusion to a fruitful partnership, expressing no regrets about how it ended. As he sought a new company to represent, Curry prioritized longevity, legacy, and global reach, all qualities he found in Li-Ning. He highlighted the product quality as a key factor in his decision, saying that Li-Ning’s offerings stood out after exploring various options.
The Golden State Warriors star, who is preparing for his 18th NBA season, confirmed he plans to remain with the Warriors and has no intention of testing free agency or retiring when his current contract expires in 2027. He voiced his commitment to continuing his career with the Warriors alongside teammates like Draymond Green and Coach Steve Kerr, focusing on competitiveness and team success rather than contract negotiations.
Additionally, Curry shared his efforts to recruit LeBron James to the Warriors after James left the Lakers, though James ultimately signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. Outside basketball, Curry is involved in community initiatives such as the Underrated Golf Tour, which aims to increase diversity and access in golf. He is currently negotiating to broadcast the tournament on the Golf Channel next year, further expanding his influence beyond the hardwood.
