Mercor is in talks for a $20B valuation

Mercor, an AI training startup, is reportedly in discussions to raise a financing round that could value the company at $20 billion. This would be a significant increase from its October 2025 valuation when it secured $350 million in Series C funding at a $10 billion valuation. The funding talks are described as early-stage, but Mercor has indicated to investors it already holds a term sheet reflecting the new valuation.

CEO Brendan Foody recently revealed on social media that Mercor's annualized revenue run rate has surpassed $2 billion, doubling in just four months. This rapid revenue growth underscores the company's increasing market traction. In addition to the funding news, Mercor announced its acquisition of Deeptune, a startup specializing in AI agent training, with the entire Deeptune team set to join Mercor.

This progress comes after a challenging start to 2026 for Mercor, which experienced a data breach and faced lawsuits from some contract workers. Despite those issues, these recent developments suggest the company is regaining momentum and strengthening its business fundamentals.

Mercor’s potential $20 billion valuation, strong revenue gains, and strategic acquisition mark a pivotal moment for the AI training firm, highlighting its rising influence in the competitive AI industry. Investors and market watchers will be closely monitoring how this next funding round unfolds and its impact on Mercor’s growth trajectory.
