IndyCar has unveiled its full 2027 schedule, highlighting some notable changes including the introduction of a multi-year race in Spain at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This addition comes as part of a 10-year agreement involving IndyCar, Spanish officials, and track promoters. The 17-race season will not feature the Nashville Superspeedway event or the one-time Washington, DC Freedom 250 that was held in 2026, marking a shift in venues from the previous year.
The schedule maintains many traditional stops, such as the World Wide Technology Raceway, Road America, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Portland, Markham, Milwaukee Mile, and concludes with the final round at Laguna Seca on September 5th. The summer races mirror much of the 2026 calendar, aside from adding Spain and removing Nashville and Washington, DC. The Milwaukee Mile will host a doubleheader in late August, providing drivers two critical chances to gain points on the historic 1-mile oval track.
For the third straight year, all IndyCar races will be broadcast nationwide on FOX, continuing a partnership praised for growing the sport’s audience, especially among younger demographics. This exclusive network coverage includes additional live broadcasts for Indianapolis 500 qualifying sessions and Carb Day festivities, underscoring IndyCar’s status as the only premier North American motorsports series fully televised on network TV.
IndyCar President J. Douglas Boles emphasized the varied nature of the 2027 schedule, which tests driver skill across ovals, street circuits, and road courses. The season will again feature 25 full-time entries competing for the championship, with all events delivered to fans on FOX. The international expansion to Barcelona is seen as a major step forward in the sport’s growth, promising an exciting and diverse racing season.
