Netflix’s Best Returning Show Has A 100% Rotten Tomatoes Score

Netflix’s critically acclaimed series Lupin has returned with its fourth installment, achieving a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes from early reviews. The French show stars Omar Sy as Assane Diop, a gentleman thief inspired by Maurice Leblanc’s classic character Arsène Lupin. Lupin began streaming in January 2021, with Parts 1 and 2 released close together, but subsequent seasons have experienced longer gaps, with a three-year wait between the third and fourth installments.

Despite its glowing critic reception, Lupin Part 4 has not made the Netflix top 10 list in the United States since its release in October 2026. The series is known for its clever storytelling and high production quality, reflected in its overall 98% critic score, though audience ratings are somewhat lower. The new season has expanded to eight episodes, adding an extra installment compared to the previous one, and promises a bigger scale and more intense plot developments.

The extended delay for Part 4’s arrival is partly attributed to Omar Sy’s busy film schedule, including roles in several high-profile movies like David Fincher’s The Killer on Netflix and the critically well-received I Was a Stranger in 2024. Sy has also taken on a co-showrunner role for the latest season, aiming to amplify Lupin’s “superhero” elements with enhanced technology and cinematic style, which some critics compare to the Marvel franchise’s flair.

Critics praise Omar Sy’s magnetic performance and the show’s ability to blend intricate plots with entertainment, though some note the tech-driven storytelling can occasionally feel overdone. As Lupin’s profile grows internationally, this new season offers fans a larger-scale narrative adventure, reaffirming the series’ place as Netflix’s standout French-language production—even if its popularity in the US remains more subdued.
