PXG has launched the latest iteration of its Secret Weapon Mini Driver, a compact 300cc golf club designed to offer a balance between the distance of a full-size driver and the control of a fairway wood. This new model incorporates advanced technology from PXG’s Lightning lineup, featuring a 4% thinner clubface, a reengineered internal sole, and optimized perimeter weighting, all aimed at generating faster ball speeds and improving performance consistency. Professional golfer Jake Knapp praised the club for its improved speed and forgiveness compared to the original design.
A major innovation in this new model is the significantly thinner face, which enhances face deflection at impact. PXG used finite element analysis to strengthen critical parts of the internal sole so it could withstand the increased stresses from the thinner face, all while redistributing saved weight around the club’s perimeter. This design increases the moment of inertia (MOI), helping the club resist twisting on off-center shots to maintain both speed and accuracy.
The Secret Weapon Mini Driver also features PXG’s Precision Weighting Technology, with four adjustable weights on the sole that golfers can customize to adjust spin, shot shape, and swing weight. An adjustable hosel further allows players to control launch angle and trajectory. These features enable users to tailor the club to their swing preferences and how they anticipate using the club on the course, whether for tee shots or shots from the fairway.
Available in right- and left-handed versions with 13 degrees of loft and a standard length of 43.25 inches, the updated Secret Weapon Mini Driver is geared toward golfers seeking a versatile option between drivers and fairway woods. To get the best fit, PXG recommends custom fittings due to the club’s various adjustable elements. Interested players can explore options or book fittings directly through PXG’s website as they prepare to add this innovative club to their bags.
