Wonder, the food delivery startup founded by Marc Lore in 2018, has taken a significant step toward going public by confidentially filing for an initial public offering (IPO). The announcement, made in early November 2026, follows several years of aggressive fundraising, acquisitions, and geographic expansion. Although Wonder has not disclosed how many shares will be offered or at what price, the move marks a key milestone in the company’s evolution from a simple delivery service to a diversified food technology platform.
Wonder’s business model stands out by combining food hall-style locations with a seamless ordering experience across multiple restaurant brands. The company manages each step, from meal preparation to delivery, pickup, and dine-in, providing flexibility and convenience for customers. Under Marc Lore’s leadership, who previously founded Jet.com and Diapers.com, Wonder has raised more than $650 million in a recent funding round that valued it at approximately $9 billion, attracting investments from Accel, GV, AllianceBernstein, and ARK Invest.
In its pursuit of growth, Wonder has targeted Texas for expansion, with plans to open over 100 locations by the end of 2027. The company has also made strategic acquisitions, including meal-kit provider Blue Apron, restaurant delivery service Grubhub, media brand Tastemade, and kitchen robotics firm Spyce. These moves aim to bolster its market presence, broaden service offerings, and introduce automation technology to streamline food preparation and delivery. Additionally, Wonder has launched Wonder Create, a platform leveraging AI to enable entrepreneurs and influencers to quickly develop new restaurant brands and menu items.
Alongside its retail and delivery operations, Wonder has secured a $425 million partnership with DoorDash to grow its campus dining business across 450 colleges and other venues. While the upcoming IPO offers new opportunities, Wonder faces strong competition in the food delivery space from established players like DoorDash and Uber Eats. The company’s success will depend on its ability to innovate and scale efficiently amid this evolving and highly competitive landscape.
