World Team Tennis (WTT) is relaunching this December with three rebranded clubs: the Florida Flamingos, New York Empire, and Toronto North Racquet Clubs. Each team is led by star players who are also part owners—Tommy Paul for Florida, Jessica Pegula for New York, and Denis Shapovalov for Toronto—reflecting a player-inclusive equity model. The league unveiled fresh visual identities for these franchises, aiming to modernize the league originally founded by Billie Jean King in 1974 and create vibrant brands that resonate with fans and communities.
The Florida Flamingos retain their historic name from the league’s inaugural season but sport a new look incorporating pink and deep burgundy colors that capture Miami’s metropolitan energy. Tommy Paul expressed enthusiasm about representing South Florida and connecting with the region’s tennis community. The New York Empire’s updated branding introduces an imperial NY monogram inspired by the city’s iconic architecture and Art Deco heritage, marked by a near-monochrome design featuring strong vertical lines and a geometric crown symbolic of the New York skyline.
For Toronto, WTT marks its return to Canada since the Toronto-Buffalo Royals’ participation in 1974 with the Toronto North Racquet Club. Denis Shapovalov’s team emblem features a bold red moose with six antlers symbolizing Toronto’s six districts. The club’s visuals connect deeply with Canadian pride while also emphasizing local culture and geography. Patrick Yee, WTT’s chief business officer, emphasized that developing distinct identities tied to each city’s culture and history is a deliberate step to create enduring, community-linked clubs beyond just tennis competitions.
The 2026 WTT season will include six events, with each team hosting two home matches and playing two away. The schedule launches at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, followed by matches in Toronto’s Coca-Cola Coliseum and Florida’s Amerant Bank Arena. The match format features four singles sets and a mixed doubles super tiebreaker, designed to compactly showcase eight players per match in an engaging, fast-paced experience. The league’s new structure and branding signal an effort to blend athletic excellence with lifestyle and culture, enhancing tennis’s accessibility and fan appeal.
